My second submission to Literotica is now live and I could not be happier! This one is called A Short Walk on the Longest Night, but it actually takes place on the longest day of the year. Still, it’s going to be a long night for Emily as she ventures into the woods late at night.
This entry was inspired entirely by the Literotica Nude Day 2021 competition and an event I saw advertised locally on Facebook a few months ago for something called Forest Bathing.
If you’ve never heard of forest bathing, don’t worry, you aren’t alone. I hadn’t either until I saw that event.
Forest bathing is a concept that comes from Japan where it is called shinrin-yoku, which translates to forest bath. The idea is quite simple, wander quietly through a forest, watching nature, breathing deeply, and taking time to destress. It is reported to have an impact on your stress levels as well as boosting your health. I’ve not actually tried it myself yet, but I am looking forward to it. Quietly wandering through forests is something I grew up doing simply because I love adventure. I had no idea that it potentially had health benefits too!
Anyway, the star of the short story, Emily, sets out late at night, though still in daylight thanks to being from Scotland, where on the longest day of the year there 17 and a half hours of daylight. But of course, she’s doing it a little bit differently, a way that fits with the theme of the competition.
It is a story of overcoming fears, loving life, and a hint that there might be something more.
I would love it if you gave it a read!
